Now that Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching (is it just me or does it seem like time is just flying right now?!?), that means it’s time to really start thinking about getting that holiday shopping going! Being that, for me at least, Gifts is one of my top 2 Love Languages (if you’re not familiar with this, I strongly suggest checking out Gary Chapman’s book #ad), I especially love this season, and so I thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite tools and such that help make the Bear & Bug Eats kitchen go.

While several of the gift ideas listed below are on the higher-priced end ($100+), there are also lots of gifts here that are more in-line with the gift-giving budget that we (and I’m guessing several of you) more often operate within (sub $50).

ULTRA-PREMIUM GIFTS:

These are some gift ideas that really stretch most people’s gift budgets but might work well for that super-special gift that you’ve been saving up for, and are products that we have had for several years and have stood the test (read: use & abuse) of time. From a Le Creuset dutch oven that we regularly use for everything from baking loaves of bread to making the most delicious sauces & stews that need hours on the stove to a Kitchen-Aid stand mixer that has not only its own section of counter but also a dedicated drawer for attachments and other accoutrements, these are gift ideas that have every potential to become heirloom pieces.

PREMIUM GIFTS:

Now we’re getting somewhere, as these are some relatively-more-budget-friendly gifts that still work as that special gift you’ve been wanting to give someone for a little while. From a coffee maker that we first received as a wedding gift and recently replaced with the newer (but still pretty much the same) model for our 10th anniversary to quite possibly my favorite piece of kitchen equipment that also gets a bit food-geeky and allows for some really fun experimentation and culinary exploration, these gifts find themselves quite loved and appreciated in our kitchen (something something well over 2500 pots of coffee made across 10 years).

EVERY-YEAR GIFTS:

These are the kind of gifts we most often give to our friends & family who love being in the kitchen just as much as we do, especially as there are a wide range of styles of gifts here. From silicone-coated whisks that every baker & saucemaker will greatly appreciate using to temperature management devices that provide accuracy & durability to a wonderful gadget that for years was part of my EDC (Every Day Carry), we love gifting these to those around us who we know will find as much enjoyment out of them as we have.

BOOKS:

Anybody who knows us knows that, to say the least, we here at Bear & Bug Eats are pretty big book people. In fact, our guest room is really only about 25% guest room and more 75% library. From books that cover a bit of everything to some specialty books about tiki drinks & tiki culture, these are some of our favorite cookbooks and other food-related books we have on our shelves.
